If your phone camera doesn't work here

  1. Allow camera access when asked. Tap Allow when your browser asks for the camera. If you tapped Don't allow, reload the page to be asked again.
  2. iPhone: check Safari settings. Open Settings > Apps > Safari > Camera and choose Ask or Allow. For Chrome on iPhone, go to Settings > Apps > Chrome and turn on Camera.
  3. Android: check Chrome permissions. Open Settings > Apps > Chrome > Permissions > Camera and choose Allow only while using the app. In Chrome, tap the icon left of the address and set Camera to Allow.
  4. Close other camera apps. Close the camera app, video calls and social apps that might be using the camera, then reload.
  5. Switch between front and back. Use the Camera list on this page to pick the front or back camera.

Camera questions

How do I test my front camera?

Open this page on your phone, tap Turn camera on and allow access. The front camera opens first. Use the Camera list to switch to the back camera.

Should I hold my phone upright or sideways on a call?

Sideways (landscape) fills the wide 16:9 tile on Zoom, Teams and Meet. Upright works, but on most computers you appear as a narrow strip with bars at the sides. Use the 9:16 and 16:9 views here to compare.

Why do I look different on my phone camera?

Front cameras are wide-angle and close to your face, which can exaggerate features. Hold the phone at eye level and a little further away for a more natural look.

Why does the camera not open in my phone browser?

The browser needs permission to use the camera, both in the phone's settings and for this website. Work through the steps above, then reload the page.
