What to look for when comparing
- Skin tones. Do faces look natural, or too orange or grey?
- Sharpness in low light. Dim the room. Cheaper cameras get blurry and noisy first.
- Frame rate. A camera that drops to 15 fps will look choppy on a call.
- Field of view. A wide lens shows more of your room. A narrower one is more flattering for one person.
Webcam comparison questions
Can I use two webcams at the same time?
Most computers can run two cameras at once in Chrome and Edge. Some laptops and phones can only run one camera at a time. If the second camera fails to start, compare them one at a time instead.
Which webcam is better for Zoom?
The one with better color and sharpness in your normal light, and a steady 30 fps. Resolution above 1080p makes little difference on a call.
