How the click speed test works
Pick a test length, then click the big button as fast as you can. The timer starts with your first click. Your score is clicks per second (CPS): total clicks divided by the test length. Your best score for each length is saved in this browser.
What is a good CPS?
- 5 to 6 CPS is average for normal clicking.
- 7 to 8 CPS is fast and common among gamers.
- 10 CPS and up usually needs techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking.
Clicks not registering, or one press counting twice? Check your mouse with the mouse test, which has a double-click detector.
Click speed test questions
What is the world record for clicks per second?
Records reported by clicking communities are well above 14 CPS using special techniques. Most people score 5 to 8 CPS with normal clicking.
How can I click faster?
Rest your wrist, use your index and middle fingers on the same button (butterfly clicking), or tense your arm to vibrate your finger (jitter clicking). Take breaks to avoid strain.
Does my mouse affect my CPS?
Yes. A light, responsive switch helps. A worn switch can also double-click by itself, which raises your score unfairly. The mouse test shows whether that is happening.
